i know, i know. not something you want to countdown to, but since i'm now in my "late-mid" 30s, i figure i have nothing better to do, right?
updates...i swam . (see previous post.) it wasn't pretty, but i didn't finish last and i didn't quit. major goals. i finished in about the time range of my goal (45 minutes), but i could have done better. i think i may do it again next year. better goals. better time. the whole she-bang. hanifa and the boys swam too. they all did great. we swam with some friends from our country club. it was truly a fabulous weekend (except for the anxiety associated with the swim). here's a photo of everyone who did the race. (after many margaritas & coronas.)
i'm 36. that almost hurts. i remember very vividly my mom at 36. wow. enough about that. so my friends have been sharing photos of our weekend. i wore a bathing suit. more than that, i saw a photo of me wearing a bathing suit. gag. barf. gross. reflux. more gagging. something has to be done. quick. i look like a freakin' linebacker. where do i start? how do i possibly give up my wine? is there something else that can go first? wine = sanity.
oops -- definitely got off on a tangent.
my husband was very kind and hosted a cocktail party in honor of my birthday last night. it was great seeing my whole plethora of friends under one roof. it's definitely an eclectic group. burning man, country club, right wing, left wing and a whole lot in the middle. it's funny how one person can have so many friends that span the width of cultural diversity. makes me smile.
said husband has also disappeared until next sunday. he's in kohler. wisconsin. golfing. (but he left with quite a hangover i might add!)
off to kindergarten curriculum night. so fun.

Not funny...you're a great person and a helluvalotta fun to hang with! Not surprising at all that you have gathered such a rich and varied assortment of friends!
Just happy to be one of them!
Glad your b-day was great...and if it makes you feel better, I'll let you see ME in a bathing suit. Then we can not give up wine and not be miserable together!
